During an acupuncture session, hair-thin needles are inserted into points on the body along energy currents called meridians. This process stimulates natural healing abilities of the body and regulates or revitalizes body functions. Acupuncture has been proven effective for a wide range of illness, including all types of pain, side effects of cancer treatments, migraines, sleep issues, common cold, digestive issues, stress and various chronic disease!

There are hundreds of acupuncture points (called acu-points) along the body’s 14 major meridians (energy-carrying channels). Chinese doctors used the term “Qi” (pronounced “chee”) to describe the energy that flows through meridians. Illness is caused by a disruption of Qi, which leads to an imbalance of energy. Acupuncture can correct this energy disruption.

“Acupuncture was the answer to my pain.”

This is the story I often hear from clients. People with chronic pain, migraines or pain due to the side effects of cancer often try acupuncture seeking relief when nothing else has worked. Acupuncture is now approved by the FDA for pain reduction and pain management.

How does it feel?

You may feel a slight prick when the needle is inserted, but it is much less than the prick you feel during an injection since the needles are much thinner. You may feel a heaviness, numbness, tingling, or mild soreness after the needles have been inserted.
